A B.C. man was caught speeding 160 km/h from Abbotsford to Chilliwack, just days after getting his driver's licence back from a previous infraction.

Xiao Qiang Zhang was caught "barrelling down" Highway 1 in a 2010 Audi on Friday before the Abbotsford police pulled him over, B.C. CTV reported.

The 20-year-old had only gotten his driver's licence back two days ago, said Const. Ian MacDonald.

"I don’t think we would categorize that as repentant, when you have a driver who you would think would be exercising extreme caution having just been given his driver’s license back," he told CTV.

Zhang was allegedly involved in an August 2011 road race that saw a Lamborghini, a Maserati and a Ferrari speed along Highway 99.

The Peace Arch News named a Xiao Qiang Zhang among 13 drivers who were handed fines of $196 each after a street race in South Surrey.

The provincial government tried to seize the vehicles after the race and later sold a Lamborghini by "mutual consent" with the owner, the National Post reported.
