Happy 61st birthday, Jeanne Beker!
The Canadian fashion icon, known for her ground-breaking work on 'Fashion Television,' celebrated the milestone on March 19 amid Toronto Fashion Week and surrounded, it seems, by fashionable friends (such as Canada's Anna Wintour, Lisa Tant).
Beker seemed flattered by all the well-wishes, saying in a Tweet:
Beker is famous for making fashion accessible to the rest of us, and has conducted many interviews with designers, models and editors at the top of their game.
Some of her best moments come when she's not doing interviews at all, such as the time when she almost got trampled by reporters who were rushing to talk to Prince at the Chanel show or the time when she slammed Madonna's movie "Body of Evidence."
To celebrate her 61th, we take a look at her best fashion moments on TV:
Jeanne Beker walks backwards while interviewing Sean Lennon and almost gets trampled by press to interview Prince.
Jeanne talks to Jian Ghomeshi on Q about her life outside of fashion.
Jeanne talks about her plans for the future.
Jeanne interviews Madonna for her 1994 film "Body of Evidence" and calls it a bad movie.
Jeanne shows us what she carries in her bag.
Jeanne laments the models of today.
Jeanne gets a lot of celebrities and style editors to say "genius."
