Happy 50th anniversary, "General Hospital"!

To celebrate the milestone on April 1, ABC released a special portrait of the cast, and lucky fans will be able to buy 1,963 copies (because the show started in 1963).

"GH," as it is known to fans, is the longest-running American soap opera that's in production and the third-longest running American TV drama after "Guiding Light" and "As The World Turns".

To commemorate the series, we take a look at what our favourite cast-members wear on the red carpet.

Some (we're looking at you Vanessa Marcil aka. Brenda Barrett Corinthos) go a bit wild while others (Kelly Monaco, Kirsten Storms) like to glam it up.

Look below at red carpet photos of the cast of "General Hospital".

  • Vanessa Marcil

Best known for her role as Brenda Barrett Corinthos, Marcil likes to show off her fun personality on the red carpet. Consider this look: Cropped jeans, a tank top (with a hole) and lots of necklaces and bracelets. We dig it!

  • Kelly Monaco

Kelly channels her character Sam McCall on the red carpet with sexy LBDs and leopard-print heels. Meow!

  • Jonathan Jackson

We'll always think of Jonathan as young buck Lucky Spencer on "GH" although new fans may recognize him as Avery Barkley on the new show "Nashville."Jackson doesn't like to dress up, favouring dark-wash jeans and casual button-ups. Works for us!

  • Steve Burton

Burton played one of the longest-running characters on the show, Jason Morgan. Burton is no-nonsense on the red carpet preferring to wear comfortable dark-wash jeans, a collared shirt and leather jacket.

  • John Stamos

Uncle Jesse, ehm, we mean Blackie Parrish, is a red carpet fixture. The actor favours slim-cut black suits sans tie.

  • Alicia Leigh Willis

Alicia, who plays Courtney Matthews on "GH" wears a classic red spaghetti strap dress with her blond hair pulled back. It's elegant yet not over-the-top.

  • Rebecca Herbst

She plays the most beautiful nurse on daytime TV, but Herbst (aka. Elizabeth Webber), prefers a casual chic look on the red carpet. Take this outfit pictured: boot-cut jeans paired with a black trench and stylish two-tone scarf is modern and fresh but also comfortable.

  • Amber Tamblyn

Amber, who played Emily Quartermaine on "GH" is known for her quirky style and this all-black ensemble is no exception. We love the sheer blouse that shows off her black bra and her funky tights.

  • Brandon Barash

Brandon, who plays Johnny Zacchara, doesn't like to put much effort into his red carpet style. Ripped jeans, a v-neck tee and a jacket that's wrinkled on purpose? Time to step up your game!

  • Finola Hughes

Finola, who plays Anna Devane, cuts a sleek figure in elegant, red-carpet ready looks.

  • Genie Francis

Genie, who plays Laura Spencer, doesn't take risks on the red carpet but she knows what flatters her figure.

  • Julie Marie Berman

Julie plays Lulu Spencer and embodies her funky style with Canadiana influences (hello Canadian tuxedo!) and fur-lined boots.

  • Kimberly McCullough

She plays Dr. Robin Scorpio on "GH" but Kimberly ditches the scrubs for knock-out gowns in real life.

  • Kirsten Storms

Kirsten, who plays Maxie Jones, has adorable style that's coupled with her cute pixie-cut.

  • Laura Wright

Laura, who plays Carly Corinthos, looks as if she's ready to party in a strapless, sparkly cocktail dress.

  • Lexi Ainsworth

The 20-year-old, who plays Kristina Davis, obviously likes to have a lot of fun with her clothes (check out those knee-high socks!)

  • Mathew St. Patrick

Even though he wasn't in "GH" for that long, Matthew, who played Detective Marcus Taggert, was still memorable. Almost as memorable as this gorgeous red caftan with silver embroidery.
