The RCMP in Nova Scotia have reopened the investigation into the alleged rape of Rehtaeh Parsons and expressed a willingness to work with Anonymous, the hacker collective that has been tracking down information on the case and passing it to police.
While the RCMP stressed on Friday that its decision to reopen the case did not result from online information, many on Twitter were quick to credit Anonymous' announcement that it has learned the identities of all four of the alleged rapists with forcing the Mounties to act.
