Calgary runners braved the wind, cold and snow Saturday morning to show their solidarity for Boston, less than a week after the marathon bombings.
More than 800 runners, including Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi, gathered at Edworthy Park clad in blue t-shirts with 'Run for Boston' emblazoned on front.

Event organizer Trevor Hofbauer wrote on the group's Facebook page, "It doesn't matter if you run 1 km or 40 km, a run is a run and the whole idea behind this event is to show support for those who were effected on this day by being one as a running community,"
Hofbauer said he encouraged race participants to donate to the Red Cross to show support for those killed, injured and traumatized by the attack.
