Authorities have released thermal images of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarneav hiding in a boat before his capture.
Dzhokhar and older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev were the subjects of an intense manhunt following the grisly blasts that killed three Monday, as well as the death of an MIT officer Thursday. Tamerlan died Friday following a confrontation with police, and police closed in on Dzhokhar when a man in Watertown, a Boston suburb, noticed blood on his boat, pulled back the cover, saw a man and called the authorities.
The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing used thermal imaging to confirm the suspect was inside the boat, according to CBS.
More coverage of the scene shows a robot tearing the cover off the boat, and officers apparently throwing flash bang grenades at it.
The suspect, covered in blood, was taken into custody following a shootout with police. Dzhokhar remains in serious but stable condition and has yet to be questioned.
