Tim Bosma's wife broke down in tears Wednesday as she gave an emotional speech at the memorial ceremony for her dead husband in Hamilton.
Sharlene Bosma said her husband, a father who took their two-year-old daughter to her swimming lessons and changed her first diapers with trembling hands, was a normal guy.
Visibly shaken, Bosma cried as she spoke about how her daughter likely won't remember her father.
"I have cried because our little girl won't remember the sound of her daddy's voice. I have cried because she won't remember the feel of her father's arms around her," Bosma said. "I have cried because the life that Tim and I shared was supposed to be our happy ending."
It was clear Bosma is relying on her faith to help her get through losing the love of her life.
She told the audience that when her daughter asks where her father is, she tells her “Daddy loves you and he’s with Jesus in heaven,” according to The Globe and Mail.
Bosma concluded by telling the audience her husband "will see us again in heaven," according to The Toronto Star
There was standing room only in a banquet hall in Hamilton, where hundreds of people gathered to remember the 32-year-old father who was killed after taking two men on a test drive.
The family has set up a trust account where donations can be made for Sharlene Bosma and her daughter at TD Canada Trust branch 2047 account 6332096.
Right as the memorial concluded, police announced they had made a second arrest in the case. Police said Mark Smich, 25, of nearby Oakville, Ont., was one of the men who went on the fatal test drive. He is due in court Thursday to face a first-degree murder charge.
A 27-year-old Toronto man, Dellen Millard, was already charged with first-degree murder, forcible confinement and theft of a vehicle.
