Momo is one lucky cat.

Kevan Yaets, his feline and their pick-up truck were caught in the heavy flooding in High River, Alta., Thursday. Yaets crawled out the back window of the truck and swam with the cat to safety.

The rescue was caught by Canadian Press photographer Jordan Verlage.

Half of the people in High River have experienced flooding in their homes, according to officials, and the town is under mandatory evacuation orders.

Several towns have declared states of emergencies, while Calgary's mayor warns the worst of the flooding is yet to come.
