LOOK: Chris Hadfield Meets World's Cutest Astronaut

It has been said that Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has inspired a generation of future space pioneers, and a photo taken at Calgary Stampede breakfast adds fuel to the claim.

The photo, posted to Alberta Premier Alison Redford's Facebook page, shows Hadfield posing with a kid wearing a full astronaut costume, along with Redford, Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney and other children.

"The world's cutest astronaut," says part of the caption of the photo.

The tiny astronaut was not the only future space commander Hadfield inspired.

An attendee at Hadfield's University of Calgary talk on Saturday also came dressed for the job:

Hadfield was invited to be the parade marshal at the Calgary Stampede this year. He announced his retirement last month following a 21-year-career as an astronaut.

Hadfield spent five months on the International Space Station where he thrilled those on earth with pictures, videos, songs and a stream of tweets.

He became the first Canadian commander of the space station and he performed more than 130 science experiments and made numerous virtual visits to classrooms across the country.
