Pour Masters: Bartenders Mix It Up With Unusual Canadian Ingredients

Leave it to some of Canada's top bartenders to turn some of the country's best known flavours into unlikely cocktail combinations.

In its annual Pour Masters bartending competition, vodka maker Grey Goose chose four winners representing Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary for their most inventive and delicious uses of its cherry-flavoured vodka using both French and local Canadian ingredients — with interesting results.

The four winners beat out 43 other competitors thanks to some creative thinking such as the smoked applewood maple syrup in Montreal and national winner Gabrielle Panaccio's "Decoction de Printemps" to the foie-gras-stuffed cherries in Vancouver winner Robyn Gray's "Duck Duck Goose."
