Happy Birthday Alex Trebek! The Jeopardy! host and game show icon turned 73 on Monday.

The Sudbury, Ont. native, who has been giving answers on Jeopardy! for almost three decades (that's more than 6,000 episodes) just might be one of the most familiar faces on television.

Despite a few health concerns, Trebek had a second heart attack recently, he says he doesn't plan on retiring any time soon.

"That happened at around the same time that Matt Lauer was going through some problems with NBC regarding the 'Today Show' and the tabloids got hold of the two stories and co-mingled them and decided, 'Well, Matt Lauer should replace Alex Trebek and he's being considered.' I was told by my bosses that wasn't the case and then Anderson Cooper's name came up and then Ken Jennings' name came up and there were a lot of names coming up," he told the Canadian Press back in June.

Trebek has become a bit of a pop culture icon with SCTV, SNL and, more recently, Conan O'Brien spoofing the avuncular host. Here's a selection of Alex Trebek highlights and spoofs:
