Suspicious Death In Edmonton

Edmonton police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred early Saturday morning in the city's southeast.

Officers responded to a residence around 60th Street and 35 A Avenue around 1:10 a.m.

According to police, a person in the house reported an altercation between two men that left one of them in medical distress.

A man in his early 30s was pronounced dead on the scene.

The scene was "wall-to-wall-cops," and "someone in handcuffs" was put in the back of a squad car, neighbour Crystal Orr told the Edmonton Journal.

Neighbours also said the home is a rental property.

Detectives are interviewing everyone in the house that night and police say all witnesses are being cooperative.

The victim was not known to police. An autopsy has not yet been scheduled.
