Caglary alderman Gian-Carlo Carra was out door-knocking Sunday evening, chatting about the upcoming municipal election, and decided to cram a few extra houses in.
The problem being, however, his goal to finish his rounds coincided with the series finale of Breaking Bad.
"Generally we try to shut down around 8 p.m.," the Ward 9 incumbent told the Huffington Post Alberta, "but we only had a few houses left so I said 'Well, let's just get to the end of the block."
"I knocked on a door and a guy answered. All he said was 'Dude. Breaking Bad. Show Finale.'"
That person was Breaking Bad fan Jared Folkmann.
“I told him to go away,” Folkmann told Metro Calgary.
Folkmann tweeted Carra could have at least shown up in a yellow jumpsuit -- a reference to the show's meth-cooking garb worn by lead character Walter White.
Carra quickly apologized with a tweet back to Folkmann, and showed his sense of humour by donning a black Heisenberg hat and moustache in a photograph for Metro Calgary.
But, in his defence, asks Carra, "who watches shows in real time anymore?"
"I honestly believe when we look back at our history of our lives we will be able to say our biggest achievement was to be able to watch shows back-to-back without any commercials."
