Leather jogging pants are officially a "thing."
Thanks to Jimmy Kimmel's peace offering of miniature leather pants to Kanye West (for baby North of course), these athletic-yet-somewhat-impractical trousers have been making serious headlines.
West claims he invented leather jogging pants six years ago when he brought the idea to Fendi, though they (apaprently) rejected the look. However, the pants later appeared on Fendi's own runway, as well as on the catwalks for major labels such as Alexander Wang, Herve Leger, Isabel Marant, and Michael Kors. According to The Daily Beast, leather jogging pants are even a thing for men.
And though we usually don't condone wearing workout gear in public (unless of course, you're working out), these updated joggers are a little different; their slouchy silhouette keeps them feeling casual, yet the leather makes them feel updated and chic.
Celebs such as Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber, and Kanye himself have all been spotted wearing the trend, as have fashion darlings Christine Centenera (of Vogue Australia) and Joanna Hillman (of Harper's Bazaar).
