Snow Day Rap Video Cements This School As The Coolest Ever

This Is The Greatest Snow Day Announcement Of All Time

Everyone (well, except for parents) loves a snow day, so what could possibly make a cancelled day of school even better? Getting to find out about it from a custom-made rap performed by the head and assistant head of your school.

In the video above, Michael Ulku-Steiner and Lee Hark of North Carolina's Durham Academy announce that school is closed today — set to the tune of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby," and completed by outfits that include a Team USA sweater and that old snow day necessity, goggles.

As they note below the video, they were inspired to make an otherwise boring announcement absolutely fantastic by Durham alumnus Chris Rosati. Rosati who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, spread his sense of humour around with a Krispy Creme Caper (in which he planned to hijack a doughnut truck and give out treats at schools) back in January.

But as for that snow day, North Carolina is currently expecting up to 10 inches of snow and sleet, and the governor has called a state of emergency. So stay warm, students, and remember, "polar vortex has a hold of us tightly."
