March Break Is Coming Up Sooner Than You Think

School holidays have a way of creeping up on you, though during this abysmal winter, we're sure plenty of families are looking forward to March Break in 2014. Even if your crew isn't planning a vacation away from Canada's infinite season, the mid-winter break can be a great time to decompress and even take the opportunity to remember all those many reasons why snow and ice are actually awesome (hint: think hot chocolate).

So in case you haven't yet had a chance to organize your schedule, we've listed the dates for March Break in school districts across Canada. It's not a terrible idea to double-check to make sure nothing's changed at your kid's school, but these are a good guideline for planning any last-minute trips, family reunions and the like. Remember, private schools may vary completely in their dates from these public school listings.

The amount of time the kids have off also differs by area. In British Columbia, as well as Yukon, there's a two-week break. In B.C.'s case, this was introduced as a cost-cutting measure for the school system in 2011, according to the Vancouver Sun, though there's been some noise about it reverting back. For 2014, the two weeks stand.

Here are the dates for March Break for each of Canada's provinces and territories:
