Kerry Diotte To Seek Federal Conservative Nomination

Failed Edmonton mayoral candidate Kerry Diotte is throwing his hat into the federal politics ring, announcing Wednesday he would seek the Conservative nomination in the new Edmonton-Griesbach riding.

Diotte, a former columnist with the Edmonton Sun and one-time city councillor, tweeted his intentions Wednesday afternoon.

“I found public service incredibly rewarding and would love the opportunity to continue,” he said in a press release.

Edmonton – Griesbach is one of several new federal seats created by a redistribution to accommodate Alberta's growing population.

Diotte finished a distant third place in last fall's race for mayor.
