Montreal Pianist Blows 'Ellen' Away

At 14 years old, Montreal pianist Daniel Clarke Bouchard has already performed at Carnegie Hall and played with Canadian jazz great Oscar Peterson.

But it was his appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that made him nervous for possibly the first time in his life, CBC News reported.

Clarke Bouchard performed an original "boogie woogie" on a segment that aired April 7 and also had a chance to meet Jonathan Quick, the goaltender for his favourite hockey team, the Los Angeles Kings.

"It was so much fun to be in front of the people because I love performing," the young musician told CBC.

He released his first album, "Scènes d’Enfants," last fall, playing works by classical greats such as Debussy, Beethoven, Haydn and Mendelssohn, The Montreal Gazette reported.

The young artist will perform at the Paroisse Catholique de Saint-Lambert as part of Festival Classica on May 31, says his website.
