Happy 25th Birthday SkyDome; Boy Was Your Opening Night Weird (VIDEO)

The SkyDome (OK, fine, Rogers Centre!) turned 25 on Tuesday and in true birthday tradition we thought it'd be good to dig up the most embarrassing video we could find of the birthday boy.

Fortunately for us, it wasn't that hard to find. The SkyDome Opening festivities, which were televised back in 1989, was embarrassing and corny even by 1989 standards.

Andrea Martin and Alan Thicke singing an awful tribute to the "world's largest retractable multi-ceiling, multi-purpose high dome" [seriously, who writes this stuff] ? Check.

Dancing Blue Jays and Argonauts? Check.

Mullets and puffy '80s hair? Oh yeah.

Anyways, happy birthday SkyDome. We're so glad you've grown out of your incredibly awkward phase.

Here's a less awkward video of the construction of the beloved stadium.
