This better be the best damn tasting potato salad ever.
While we're all big fans of campaigns that fund projects to help people and programs across the world, we're not sure what to think about this latest Kickstarter one getting a ton of attention.
Ohio resident Zack Brown set a modest goal of $10 on July 3 to make potato salad, not knowing he would reach over $50K in five small days, and growing. (During the writing of this article alone, the campaign went up $10K).
With 24 days to go and more than 3,900 donors, Brown initially started the campaign because, basically, he wanted to make a potato salad but wasn't sure what kind to make. Never expecting the wonderful power of the Internet to listen to his tiny request, Brown was overwhelmed by the thousands and thousands of dollars in donations.
Brown is also not sure if he should mail out salads to some people or rent out a party hall to make several recipes. Whatever he does with the money, we just hope it ends up in a good place (or mouth).
“All these wonderful people are making my dream of spreading joy and humour in the world come true," Brown told ABC News. "We're going to throw a massive party in Columbus [Ohio] and the whole Internet is invited. We are going to do right by the Internet.”
And because he doesn't have any idea what kind of potato salad(s) to make, here are some tasty (and cheap) options:
