The world of fashion is full of eccentrics so it comes as no surprise that somewhere along the line, someone decided that winter collections would be unveiled before summer was even half over.

Is that a problem? Absolutely not because let's face it: the 2014 fall fashion trends are the best. How can you not get absurdly excited about oversized sweaters, motorcycle jackets and thick wool scarves?

So, with all the fall shows behind us now, here are some of our favourite wearable fashion trends that hit the runways.

Best Wearable Pieces For Fall 2014

Sweater Weather

All Saints Quinta Sweater, $215

This is one of the most wearable trends for fall. All things cozy, wooly and fuzzy made their way down the runways of The Row, Michael Kors and Stella McCartney. Just think, all you have to do to be trendy is to put on your comfiest knit sweater!

Normcore

Pink Tartan HB Pencil Skirt in Black and White, $295

This fall, it’s cool to just blend in with the masses. So, what is normcore, you ask? Essentially, it's the trend of dressing completely "normal." Mind you, normal doesn’t equate to frumpy. Black trousers? Tweed blazer? Wool pencil skirt? All fall under the normcore trend, thankfully.

Bath Robe Coats

Mango Lapels Wool Blend Coat, $209.95

Ever wish you could just walk outside in your cozy warm bathrobe? Well, you shouldn’t but you can come pretty close by embracing fall 2014’s robe coat trend. Chloe and Altuzarra were amongst the designers showcasing this extremely wearable trend.

Sixties

Modcloth Rock the Colourblock Dress, $39.99

The distinct style of the '60s was evident on the fall 2014 runways. Bright bold geometrics and the signature silhouettes of the "Mad Men" era will undoubtedly be influencing your fall fashion choices.

Wild West

BCBGMAXAZRIA Julia Western Floral Jacquard Dress, $344

Get ready to wear big stetsons and western-inspired clothing this fall. Westerns have always had a sexy allure but this season, the Wild West is back in the spotlight.

Shearling

JOA Mustang Jacket, $163.63

Apparently, the IKEA monkey’s signature shearling coat made his style influence known to the world’s top designers. Practical and stylish, shearling was one of the most obvious trends on the runway.

Sneakers

New Balance 501 Classic, $90

Your feet have been infinitely thankful for the last two seasons, which saw sneakers overshadow heels (finally!).There was no tripping on the runways during the fall 2014 collections because the comfy shoes are back for this autumn, styled with couture clothing, of course.

Orange is the New Black

Jones New York Notched Lapel Jacket with Ruched Sleeves, $171.16

Pops of tangerine were all over the runways at the fall collections. Preen and Dries Van Noten were among several designers to give this summery hue a place in fall’s typically muted colour palette.

Animal Motifs

Club L Owl Jumper Dress, $97.83

We love fuzzy animals on YouTube and we love them manifested on our clothes. Owls, pups and some creatures we couldn’t quite identify were seen in the collections of Alberta Ferretti and D&G, among others.

Statement Bags

Karen Walker Faster Better & Stronger Clutch, $250

Accessories typically take a back seat to clothes but not this fall season. If you’ve ever wanted to say something without actually saying it, fall 2014’s statement bags will say it for you.
