The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE or the Ex for short), officially opens on Aug. 15 in Toronto.

For any Torontonians who has grown up going to the Ex every year, you know several things are true: you can eat a bunch of greasy and sugary foods for hours, you spend a lot of money playing games and end up with a tiny prize and you love how much life the city has during those last two weeks of summer (no!).

We've pulled together 18 reasons why we loved (and still love) going to the Ex every year, what would you add? Let us know in the comments below:

Move over Canada's Wonderland

Cotton candy, ice cream waffles, you know the deal

And take a video of them making the doughnuts in front of you.

Yes, this exists!

The wall art, the crafts and the stuff you "see on TV."

Most of the times, they're right!

And some, like Down With Webster, who are preforming this year

Hey it may not be over the Grand Canyon, but the CNE's Flying Wallendas crew (including Nik Wallenda who walked over the canyon) have incredible stunts.

Or the booths where you think you're saving money by betting $1

The city is so beautiful.

But some of you talented Torontonians end up with giant stuffed animals. (Note: you also know you can buy your way up to a giant stuffed animal with smaller stuffed animals).

It is also way cheaper to get in on a weekday — $6 after 5 p.m. from Monday to Thursday.

Sigh, back to real life.
