'Putinkinis' Are The Strangest Way To Show Off Russian Pride (PHOTOS, TWEETS)

This May Be The Strangest Place To Put Putin's Face

With Vladimir Putin firmly in charge, some young people in Russia have taken to showing off their patriotism in a very distinct way.

Anastasia Petrova, 20, posted the following picture to her nearly 70,000 followers on Instagram on Wednesday.

The photo shows her and three others donning so-called "Putinkinis," which display the president's face, while at the Tavrida International Youth Forum, which took place in Sevastopol, Crimea from Aug. 10 to 20.

The forum invited participants to check out "historic sites" in the area that was annexed earlier this year and discuss topics such as Russian integration into the international community.

"Our wonderful girls decided not to hide their patriotism and show a photo of V.V. (Vladimir Vladimirovich) Putin as one of their attributes — on their breasts," the event's website said, according to The Daily Mail.

But that wasn't the only symbol of patriotism on show at the youth forum. Petrova also posted a photo of her and three other women wearing tank tops that showed Putin's face.

"Do you know what kind of clothes [were] the most popular at the International Forum? ... [Of] course T-shirts with the image of our beloved President," said a translated version of her post.
