Black Bear Roaming Calgary Makes Escape In Reservoir

Brave Black Bear Makes Daring Reservoir Escape

A black bear on the loose in Calgary wandered through a neighbourhood and a golf course before eventually making its escape on the reservoir Wednesday.

The bruin was spotted at the Earl Grey Golf Course around 9 a.m., and eventually ended up near the fence at the end of the driving range, reports CTV News.

It managed to hop the fence before continuing to stroll through streets and backyards in Lakeview and into North Glenmore Park.

It was then, reports the Calgary Sun, that the bear hopped into the reservoir and swam south across to the shore on the other side.

CBC News says there have been reports of the bear heading toward the Tsuu T'ina First Nation.

Wildlife officials told 660 News they may set up traps for the bear. They are concerned it might be the same bear that forced them to shut down parts of North Glenmore Park earlier this month.
