Remembering Jacksoul's Haydain Neale In 'Got To Have It' Behind-The-Scenes Video

WATCH: Remembering jacksoul's Late, Great Haydain Neale

Last week, we premiered the video for "Got To Have it," a "new" song from jacksoul, one of Canada's best R&B bands which ended with the tragic death of singer Haydain Neale who died five years ago at age 39 of lung cancer.

Now we take you behind-the-scenes of the video shoot with Neale's former bandmates who reassembled to pay tribute to their "friend and leader" with a fully fleshed out version of one of his rediscovered demos.

"These two pieces truly represent an emotionally charged evening of rekindling the jacksoul flame with the remaining members of the band. The trip down memory lane through a collage of video clips and pictures is nostalgic and bittersweet. I wish Haydain could be here today to see the impact he made on our lives and the Canadian musical landscape," guitarist Justin Abedin told HufPost Canada.

"Even though he wasn't with us physically in the studio the day of the recording, his energy was with us and this document captures the spirit of the band and highlights the level of musicality and camaraderie that I believe to be the very essence of jacksoul," bassist John Kanakis added.

The song is actually just one of several previously unreleased jacksoul tracks rescued from Neale's demo archives which will be included on an upcoming greatest hits collection.

"Ahhh, brings back memories," says keyboardist and "Got To Have It" co-writer Ron Lopata of the behind-the-scenes video with its old footage clips. "So many great memories. A lump in my throat at times, but many laughs, too."
