Congratulations are in order for Angelina Jolie! The star was just named a Dame!
The 39-year-old was presented with the insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross and of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George on Friday, in a private ceremony.
Jolie was addressed by her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, at Buckingham Palace on Friday. She was dressed in a regal dove grey skirt suit by Ralph & Russo, that was absolutely perfect for the occasion. She wore her brown locks in an elegant updo and accessorized with pearl earrings and grey peep-toe pumps.
The actress' husband, Brad Pitt, along with their children, accompanied her to the Palace and were all introduced to the Queen.
The "Maleficent" star was being recognized for her continual activism and campaigning against sexual violence. The award was presented back in June, while Jolie was co-chairing the End Sexual Violence in Conflict (ESVC) global summit in London.
At the time, she stated that it meant "a great deal...to receive an honour related to foreign policy."
What a wonderful honour!
