Toronto voters have hit the polling stations in droves, creating lineups that some are calling the biggest they have ever seen in a municipal election.

Several Twitter posts from Monday's election show lengthy lineups were forming around stations in Riverside, at the Regent Park Aquatic Centre and at Queen and Portland.

Some users were concerned that the polls would close and leave people lining up to vote. Some polls ended up extending their hours.

Democracy FTW!
