What would a 10-page letter from your Grade 9 self look like?
While our keyboard-exhausted fingers could barely even pen more than 15 holiday cards this year, it's amazing to think that once upon a time, a Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan teacher asked his students to write themselves such a note.
In the West Jet-produced video above for their Above and Beyond series, now-retired teacher Bruce Farrer explains the assignment he gave to students all those years ago, and how he saved the decades worth of letters to send out along the way.
Though Farrer's story was written about by Canadian media outlets earlier this year, there's something about this West Jet-produced video that gets you right in the gut (and yes, we're willing to credit the music with some of that).
But perhaps most relevantly, it's a testament to the power of writing letters, and just what kind of impact a truly caring teacher can make — all these years later.
