Alpena Flyers defenceman Mitchell Skiba was thrown out of a game against the MC Monarchs after spearing an opponent at centre ice.

Clearly frustrated (it couldn't have helped that his team lost 7-3), the player came off the ice and, in a show of frustration, threw his stick against the glass.

And then ... OUCH!

Skiba took plenty of ribbing for the stunt on social media, though he also saw the humour in it and re-tweeted the following messages.
