Alberta Premier Jim Prentice is being criticized heavily after his government spent $13,000 to buy four 80-inch TV screens.
He said the new hardware is necessary because the previous 65-inch screens didn't work for video conferencing, CBC News reported Wednesday.
His critics include Wildrose MLA Shayne Saskiw, who said the government shouldn't be spending like this after it tabled a budget that increases taxes and fees.
And they also, apparently, include Naheed Nenshi.
The Calgary mayor tweeted the following on Wednesday, in a thinly veiled nod to Prentice's new screens.
One commenter noted that it even had a VCR, to which Nenshi said, "Of course! Never know when you might have to record something."
Shots fired!
