Hashbrowns for breakfast and a hearty pasta for dinner: what if we told you there was a healthier way to do this?
We're all fans of starchy vegetables and carbs for comfort, but as you will see in the video above by Buzzfeed, swapping out your calorie-heavy ingredients for acorn or butternut squash will add a whole new level of deliciousness to your meal. In the video, we learn how to make five simple dishes, from an acorn squash hashbrown to squash burger patties.
For the most part, all you need is a few spices, a baking pan and an oven or microwave. If you want to get creative, feel free to add your own additional ingredients like veggies to your pasta or an egg to your hashbrowns. And if cutting calories wasn't enough, one serving of butternut squash, for example, has about 212 per cent of your daily intake of vitamin A.
