A six-year-old girl has died of her injuries after being struck by an inexperienced driver in Port Coquitlam, B.C.

The driver of an SUV crashed at the intersection of Shaughnessy Street and Lions Way on Sunday evening and crashed into four people, including the girl, on the sidewalk, reported CTV News. The victims were all sent to the hospital, according to the outlet.

The girl died of her injuries on Monday morning, said Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung in a news release.

An online memorial fund has been set up for Kianna Moreau and a candlelight vigil is being organized at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody on Friday night.

The driver is a woman in her 40s who held a learner's permit, according to CBC News. At the time of the crash, she was abiding by all the rules of her restricted licence, including driving with a supervisor and displaying a red "L" magnet on the car, reported the outlet.

She is co-operating with police, said Chung.

The girl's mother remains in hospital in serious condition, along with one other victim, according to News 1130.

A fourth person who suffered minor injuries has been released from the hospital.
