A little while ago we introduced you to Stefania Ferrario, an Australian model urging the fashion industry to #DropThePlus label. Well, her calls have been heard, and she's been signed to a major agency.
Models 1, a leading UK-based modelling agency who threw support behind Ferrario's movement, has signed her to their Curve division.
"I'm very excited to be part of the team at Models 1 Curve," Ferrario told Dazed. "They're an agency that promote health, equality and diversity. They are making positive changes in the fashion industry and I'm thrilled to be a part of that! My heritage is European so being represented by Models 1 in the UK also gives me the opportunity to travel and visit family in Europe while pursuing my dream."
The blond stunner shared the news via Instagram with a gorgeous black and white photo, which she captioned, "Excited to announce that I'm now represented by @models_1uk an agency that promotes diversity, health and equality."
Ferrario first made waves online when she posted a nearly nude photo of herself on Instagram with the words, "I am a model" written on her torso. The image sparked a massive conversation all over the web about the use of the term "plus-size" in the fashion and modelling industries.
Ferrario's news is just one more instance of accepting body diversity in the industry, and we love it. And to her, we say, Keep on fighting the good fight!
