John Tory Mouthed Off To Ottawa. It Fell Flat. Again.

What exactly does John Tory have against the nation's capital?

What does Toronto Mayor John Tory have against the City of Ottawa?

In 2007, while campaigning for the Progressive Conservatives in the Ontario election, he was criticized for calling the University of Ottawa the "U of Zero."

Now, he's taken another shot at the nation's capital as he tries to find a new home for a Toronto sign that's been erected in front of city hall for the Pan Am Games.

Toronto's mayor thought he'd poke a little fun at Ottawa, by suggesting it be located at the Canadian Tire Centre, home of the Senators hockey team.

Then Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson dropped the mic.

Others were similarly unimpressed.

But Ottawa isn't the only city that Tory referenced in the process. He also jokingly suggested that it be located in Montreal.

Or on Pluto.

The Ottawa joke capped off a tough 24 hours for Toronto's mayor after he mistakenly called Kanye West a "proud product of our music industry here."

Tory was clearly trying to be funny, but if you're going to take digs at another city, make sure the jokes hit their targets.
