Summer Style Guide: Dressing For Air-Conditioned Hell (Work)

Summer Style Guide: Dressing For Air-Conditioned Hell (Work)

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I hate the summer. I hate the humidity, I hate the heat stroke, I hate the mosquitos that don’t seem to bother any of you, despite them usually feasting on me. I hate parks, and I hate sitting in them. I hate swimming, and I hate sunscreen. I hate it all. I hate the summer.

But what I hate almost as much as I hate summer is, ironically, the only thing that gets me through it: air conditioning.

Without air conditioning I would, without a doubt, pass away. (Yesterday I got a little too warm and almost threw up in a movie theatre.) I am a weird, Irish-Lithuanian fragile pale-thing, whose idea of hell is being outside before the hours of 6 p.m., but preferably 7. In an ideal world, it would be autumn and winter all the time. But it is not, so we have air conditioning.

But to dress for air conditioning is impossible. One minute it’s humid, the next it’s November. Sandals to work mean your feet will have frostbite. And frankly, it’s just cold. Too cold. Never okay. Life is hard. Here are my tips on how to acclimate to it.

1. Have A Sweater At Work
