'Tis the season for transitional dressing.
Yes, we're at that time of year where, though the weather is still hot and humid, we're itching to start dressing for fall, especially with all the gorgeous fall frocks hitting stores right now. That's where the art of subtle transition comes in.
Naturally, human rights lawyer and style icon Amal Clooney has got transitional dressing down to a tee, as demonstrated by her chic, summer-to-fall outfit she wore earlier this week.
The 37-year-old old stepped out in London on August 17 wearing a loose-fitting, blush pink ribbed knitwear set by Stella McCartney which exuded casual summer cool. A pair of simple pumps would have been a nice complement to the warm weather look, however, Amal opted to pair the ensemble with black creeper shoes also by McCartney. The Odette Brogue shoes featured a thick, orange sole with studs around the edges and a large black buckle -- basically, the cool girl shoe for fall. It added just that extra edge to her pretty two-piece, which was a nice departure from Clooney's typically ladylike styles.
The finishing touches? A white Lego bag with Lego details by Les Petits Joueurs, and a black leather moto jacket.
The perfect mix of summer/fall and ladylike/punk. Love.
