Shortly after revealing Justin Bieber as their October/November cover star, Complex Magazine unveiled yet another cover for the same issue, this time featuring Demi Lovato.
Photographed by Tony Kelly, the image sees the 23-year-old "Cool for the Summer" songstress leaning against an inflatable banana wearing nothing but a pair of mesh underwear and leopard print heels.
Demi's hair is styled in retro waves, and bold brows, red lips and red nails complete her pinup-inspired look.
The cover comes just before the release of the former Disney star's new album, "Confident," and the rest of the shoot illustrates just that.
In the accompanying interview, Demi says seeing Kim Kardashian and her sisters helped her to finally accept her curves.
"When [the Kardashians] came into the spotlight, they kind of revolutionized what beauty was when it came to body shapes," she tells the magazine. "For so long, it was the heroin-chic ’90s supermodel thing, and I feel like, when the Kardashians came into the picture, people started to look at it because it was different. They were like, 'You know what? That’s actually really beautiful.'"
The former child star, who has openly spoken about her issues with anorexia and bulimia, says that from there, she started noticing "Beyonce was thicker, and Nicki Minaj is thicker" and that thicker wasn't a bad word.
"When I say thick -- like when I call my thighs thick -- I love it. I think it’s a good thing," she explains. "Watching them really helped me learn to accept my body image, too. I’m not naturally super thin. I have an athletic body. I just have to embrace that. There are days when it’s hard to, but more and more, there are days where I’m actually proud of my body."
