Winnipeg Car Theft Suspects Snap Selfie In Stolen Vehicle

This is every reason why you should never take a selfie. Anywhere. Ever.

Lucille Lavoie parked her car near Winnipeg's Polo Park on Tuesday so she could help her daughter-in-law with some groceries, CBC News reported.

She thought she would only be gone for a couple minutes, so she left her purse, cell phone and keys in the running car.

But it disappeared by the time she returned.

Then something strange happened. She went home and noticed a photo on her Facebook account showing three people in what appeared to be her car, as her phone was linked directly to her profile, according to CTV News.

The photo received thousands of shares, and Lavoie handed it to police. The police later told her that they arrested three suspects, CBC News said.

Winnipeg police confirmed the arrests to the network, but did not provide further details.

Lavoie has yet to be reunited with her car and personal belongings.

For now, however, she said it "felt like it was Christmas" to find a piece of information that could help track the suspected car thieves down.

So again: never take a selfie. Ever.
