First, Transport Canada marked "Back to the Future" Day with a fake DeLorean recall.

Then Canada's future prime minister Justin Trudeau joined in on the fun.

The Liberal Party leader posted this photo to Facebook on Wednesday, in celebration of "Back to the Future" Day:

October 21, 2015: A great day to be thinking about the future!

In "Back to the Future, Part II," a movie released in the '80s, characters Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel forward to Oct. 21, 2015,

Naturally, that date has been branded as "Back to the Future" Day, and many more tributes have poured in on social media.

Ex-astronaut Chris Hadfield, for instance, posted this on his Facebook:

DeLorean day. Back to the Future!

And the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research posted this video:

Trudeau's may not be the most creative "Back to the Future" tribute. But it's certainly the cutest one we've seen.
