Step-By-Step Recipes For Uncommon Fall Vegetables

From pumpkin to cauliflower, cabbage to kale, autumn is the most amazing time of year for hearty and delicious vegetables. But there are some seasonal veggies that might seem a little intimidating to new cooks.

In the video above by Martha Stewart, Kitchen Conundrums, expert Thomas Joseph shares step-by-step recipes for three mysterious fall foods: kohlrabi, kabocha and celery root.

If you've only looked at and never cooked these hearty fall veggies, you're seriously missing out. Celery root has a strong, fresh flavour reminiscent of celery stalks and parsley, not to mention it makes a great alternative to mashed potatoes. Kohlrabi, on the other hand, is a sweet veggie that belongs to the turnip family and tastes like broccoli. But our favourite would have to be kabocha, the sweet squash that makes us forget about pumpkins.
