Scientists Say Victoria's Secret Perfume Will Repel Mosquitoes

Your next camping trip just got a whole lot sexier.

It turns out that channeling your inner Victoria's Secret Angel while camping can totally help you fight off those mosquitoes.

The lingerie giant's "Bombshell" perfume was recently used in a study conducted by New Mexico State University and the results are in: the fragrance works fairly well at repelling certain types of mosquitoes. Published in the Journal of Insect Science, the experiment shows that the scent's purple passion fruit, Shangri-La peony and vanilla orchid notes are able to repel the insects for almost two hours.

"We were very surprised when we found that Bombshell repels mosquitoes better than some products that are marketed as mosquito repellents," Dr. Immo Hansen, associate professor of biology at the university and a co-author of the research, told The Huffington Post.

"This particular perfume has a very sweet, flowery scent and there are some publications suggesting that such scents attract mosquitoes."

The scientists said that the VS fragrance worked just as well as DEET-based bug repellents without the smell of chemicals (well, the toxic ones).
