Homes are a lot like people: An attractive facade will catch your eye, but it's what's on the inside that counts.
But don't take our word for it. Ask Scott McGillivray.
While the TV host and licensed contractor knows the importance of how a home looks on the outside, those first steps prospective buyers take inside can make or break a sale.
"Curb appeal is a great way to draw attention to your home but first impressions don’t stop there," says McGillivray. "You want to make sure you make a great impression when you walk into the home as well as when you see it from the outside."
It's advice McGillivray's taken to heart, as he shows off a slew of improvements he made to his home in the video above. The result? A brighter and more welcoming atmosphere once you're inside.
The rest, the real estate expert says, is a matter of showcasing the best of what your house has to offer and that often has to do with the colours and material. For more on what McGillivray means, check out 2 Minutes To Transform.
