NFL Dads Commercial: Players Do Their Daughters' Hair Like Pros

This is so sweet.

Turns out NFL players have a soft side. On Wednesday, Pantene released clips of Pittsburgh Steelers’ DeAngelo Williams, New Orleans Saints’ Benjamin Watson and Dallas Cowboys’ Jason Witten having daddy-daughter time and showing off their impressive hairstyling skills.

In the clips, the dads accept the #DadDo hair challenge and attempt to master some basic hair tutorials, such as the ballerina bun and twisted pigtails. While the dads are all nervous to begin with, they soon relax and start to have fun with their daughters.

“If you’re a father and only have so many hours in the day, maybe doing their hair is something you can do to connect with them and to build that relationship,” says Watson in his clip with daughter Grace.

The videos were released as part of Pantene’s “Strong Is Beautiful” campaign aimed at helping girls build their confidence. “Research shows that quality time spent with dads is key in raising daughters who are more self-confident, self-reliant and more successful in school and in their careers,” Pantene said in a news release.

On Facebook, many users praised Pantene for sending such a positive message. “This commercial speaks VOLUMES,” one wrote. “I enjoyed every second of it. There is a MASSIVE gap in the parenthood world that men are inferior as parents. That women are better primary caretakers. This is 100% false.”

Pantene will air their commercials during the Super Bowl on Feb. 7.
