Two human feet that washed up on a beach near Port Renfrew, B.C. came from the same person, the provincial coroner's service confirmed Tuesday.

The second foot was found inside a shoe at Botanical beach on Friday, according to a media release. The other one was discovered inside the matching shoe on Feb. 7.

Both feet, found by hikers, detached from the body as a result of "prolonged" time in the water.

The shoes are black and blue men's New Balance runners in a size 12. They were first sold in North America in March 2013, which means the owner died sometime between then and December 2015.

The BC Coroners Service is running DNA tests to try and identify the victim.

Over a dozen washed-up feet in nine years

The feet are the 13th and 14th to wash up on B.C. shores since 2007. Ten of the previous 12 feet belonged to seven people, and several of the remains have been linked to suicides.

Foul play isn't suspected in any of the 14 cases.
