Looks like this is the year of bold fashion choices for Kate Middleton.
After experimenting with monochromatic looks and picnic blanket dresses, the Duchess of Cambridge decided to experiment once again with her style, donning a totally unexpected look for a reception at Kensington Palace for the Indian and Bhutanese people who currently live in the U.K.
For the occasion, the 34-year-old mother of two wore a sheer, floor-length blue gown adorned with polka dots throughout. The dress, which was designed by Indian-born and British-based designer, Saloni Lodha, is definitely a racier choice for Catherine, especially with the sheer illusion top and deep V in the back. However, it was still modest and classy with its high neckline and long sleeves.
Of course, the Duchess' hair was blown out to perfection, with her ends styled into soft, bouncy curls. Catherine kept her makeup rather simple, choosing navy eye makeup to go with her dress.
As for Prince William, he opted for his classic navy suit and white shirt combo, donning a baby blue tie to complement his wife's gown.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to jet off to Indian and Bhutan for their royal tour on April 10th.
