Let's face it: Dandruff straight up sucks. It's embarrassing, it's hard to deal with and that endless trail of telltale white flakes is a big hell-to-the-no.

In a video on Instagram, Dhukai is seen mixing one part Listerine (original Farah notes, not the flavoured stuff), with one part water to her freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. After she shakes it well, the beauty guru applies the (totally weird) mixture onto her scalp.

Once it has settled in for a few minutes, she advises to wash your hair out with only water (do NOT use shampoo).

"Your scalp will feel tingly, cool and refreshed and it will be dandruff free!!" Dhukai writes in the description. "#sofreshandsoclean #fresherthanyou" she adds.

The Concord, Ont. native also writes how Listerine contains menthol, thymol, eucalyptol and methyl salicylate — all of which "make it an anti-fungal, anti-septic and and anti-inflammatory and PERFECT for getting rid of dandruff."

According to Huffington Post U.K., who reached out to Carole Michaelides, a trichologist at Philip Kingsley, "Mouthwash such as Listerine can indeed help treat dandruff."

“It doesn’t specifically target the malassezia yeast pityrosporum ovale that is thought to be primarily associated with dandruff, but it could have a mildly antifungal effect and help reduce irritation," Kingsley said. "Nevertheless an antidandruff shampoo and scalp tonic designed to treat dandruff will be more effective and much easier to use as the mouthwash would need to be diluted."
