The collection has been designed by the singer as part of her role as brand ambassador for Dior.
It is her first design project with the house, and the first for a brand ambassador, a role previously filled by Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard, Natalie Portman and Jennifer Lawrence.
The range will include one sunglass frame in six variations, with silver, pink, blue, green and red colourways set to retail at $840, whilst a deluxe 24-karat gold-plated version retail at $1,950.
Rihanna has named La Forge from "Star Trek" as the inspiration behind the frame, saying "I've always been obsessed with his eyewear, and when I got to Dior and saw all the materials I could play with, it all just came together," with Dior's eyewear designer Mathieu Jamin adding that the Rihanna frames are "really strong and something we don't have in the collection, so it's unique."
The "Rihanna" sunglass collection will launch early June and be sold exclusively at Dior stores.
