Amal Clooney has a lot of famous friends.
We mean, who wouldn't want to be pals with her? She's an international human rights lawyer who casually slays in designer threads wherever she goes. To simply put it, she's #goals. And we won't even bother lying — we want in on the squad.
So who's Amal's newest friend? Pope Francis.
The Clooneys spent the past weekend in Rome where they headed into Vatican City to meet Pope Francis. Attending the pontiff's Un Muro o Un Ponte Seminary at Paul VI Hall alongside husband George, 55, who received an award for his work with Francis' Scholas Occurrentes, an International Organization of Pontifical Right that connects technology with arts and sports, the 38-year-old British-Lebanese activist made sure she wore her best for the visit.
Donning a Atelier Versace black lace dress with three-quarter sleeves, Amal matched the ensemble with a black headpiece, Jimmy Choo nude heels and a clutch bag.
Sitting next to George who wore a classic black and white suit to the award ceremony, we were given a look at Amal's simple makeup. Flaunting her naturally bold brows, Clooney kept her eye makeup bare while sporting a pale-rose lip colour and blushed cheeks.
Also awarded by the Pope for their contribution to the work of the Scholas Occurrentes foundation? Richard Gere and Salma Hayek.
According to the photos, it looked like Amal and George really hit it off with Pope Francis. There are smiles all around. And for that, we hope they stay in touch.
