With One Look At The Olympic Bronze Medal, Beauty Lovers Thought It Was A Highlighter Palette

"I thought this was highlighter with some super dope packaging."

You know you're completely beauty obsessed when you think an Olympic medal, which athletes train their entire lives to win, is a beauty product commonly found in your makeup bag.

That's right, with under 40 days until the kickoff of the Rio Olympic Games, the official Olympics Instagram account posted a photo of the new bronze medal and everyone thought it looked like a highlighter palette.

Only 40 days to go. #RoadtoRio @rio2016

Just goes to show how contour-crazy we all are.

Sure, if you didn't read the caption, which is clearly hashtagged with "#RoadtoRio," than you might think this wooden compact is the newest must-have item from Sephora (could you imagine dusting some of this rose-gold shade onto your cheekbones? Gorgeous).

"I thought this was highlighter with some super dope packaging," one commenter wrote.

"I thought it is a highlighter for makeup [olympic limited edition]," another wrote.

"Really pretty highlighter," someone innocently chimed in.

Sigh.

But we need to cut the nearly 200 commenters some slack. As pointed out by Cosmo, lilah b. beauty does have similar packaging to that of the Olympic medal.

But for real, Rio 2016. Where's this limited edition Olympic makeup line? We'll be over here patiently waiting for it before the opening ceremonies.
