One of my favorite areas to photograph on the Eastport Peninsula especially on a calm day as it was here. Taken on the Eastport Peninsula Causeway that links the Peninsula to the TCH. This area boarders on Terra Nova National Park, Newfoundland.

There’s at least one good thing about the low state of the loonie: it means that this summer is the perfect time to explore more of Canada. There are tons of ways to do this, but camping is among the best in a country with lots of unsupervised space to explore.

You’ll find plenty such space in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick, Canada’s four Atlantic provinces.


Each one of them has world-class national and provincial parks with a variety of camping options, from roughing it in sites you can’t access by car to enjoying the luxury of camping by yurt. And many of these campgrounds also include ocean views and saltwater swimming — talk about a win-win.
